Something For Real

Kiefer's highly anticipated live album Something For Real features his signature blend of traditional jazz piano and hip-hop beats — the former learned in an academic setting, the latter within his L.A. music community. The album captures the live essence of Kiefer's last album It's Ok, B U alongside a couple of brand new tracks. In line with the tradition of live jazz albums, this record has a spontaneity and sense of fun, as captured live with good friends and live collaborators Luke Titus and Pera Krstajic. The album features audio captured during an intimate show in Los Angeles back in April of 2023. The show was recorded in secret, per Kiefer's request- thus capturing a natural electricity between him and his trio. The project includes one brand new song in title track "Something For Real," along with originals from Kiefer's catalog and a stirring rendition of Bobby Hutcherson's "Montara."
